A little bit about Christina...

"In 2003 I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art, with an emphasis in Photography & Graphic Design.  I wasn't quite sure what area I wanted to go into, but soon found myself working for a local portrait photographer - AND LOVED IT!  In 2007 I purchased the studio I had been managing in Storm Lake for the past 4 years, & Christina Kjar Photography was born.  After relocating to Holstein, I soon moved the studio here.  In 2015 I purchased a building downtown & completely remodeled the space to make my perfect studio.

Whether I'm photographing a high school senior, a wedding or a family.......my goal is to tell their story & to give them memories that they will cherish for a lifetime. By not only providing you with beautiful images, but giving you an amazing experience & heirloom products that will last to the next generation!  We currently living in such a digital age & I believe it is truly important to print your photos to enjoy in your home."

Since 2003, Christina has won numerous awards on state, district, & international levels.  In 2014, Christina received her Master of Photography from PPA.  In 2012 & 2021 she received the Don Knop Award, given to the top wedding entry at the Professional Photographers of Iowa convention.  Other awards include 2 Fuji Masterpiece awards, 2 Bronze Photographer of the Year awards through PPA, & many others.  She has been in the Top 10 photographers for Iowa numerous times & served as President for the Professional Photographers of Iowa in 2016-2017.  Christina has also traveled to various state conventions to speak to other photographers in the professional industry.

In addition, Christina serves on the Board of Trustees for Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove and is a member of the GH Foundation Board.  She is also in charge of the Holstein Farmer's Market - Market on Main.  Check out Sunshine & Flora on social media, Christina's locally grown fresh cut flower business!
